True cross-platform play is coming to Rocket League.

Oh.  My.  Crap.

The news comes from ID@xbox, where a GDC-themed post today noted that they're going to be bringing cross-platform play to Windows 10 and Xbox One, but that's not the most interesting part.  The most interesting part is this:
"We’re thrilled to confirm that Psyonix’s Rocket League will be one of the first games to take advantage of this new capability by enabling cross-network play between Xbox One and PC players, with an open invitation for other networks to participate as well."

Do you know what this fucking means?!

Holy shit.  This is real!  This is really real!  Oh, and speaking of Xbox (how often does that happen 'round here?) Axiom Verge is comin' to One, and the Wii U later this year.

Hat tip to you, Microsoft, for taking the first step on this.

Wow.  This is the first post I ever did with a Rocket League tag.  Never played it, y'know.  Still cross-platform play oh my lanta!

  2. Rocket League is the very best. Finally Platinum'd it a few days ago (not difficult!). In my opinion, it is an absolutely perfect first game for this kind of cross-platform play (whether Xbox-PC, Xbox-PS4, or PS4-PC, the last of which was actually supposed to be in the game by now).
