Long Cut 10 - Cry To Me.

It's been a long time since I did a Long Cut - early June, actually!  But Long Cuts are some of my favorite vids!  One of my all-time favorite Overwatch videos remains, to this day, is Apache, because my God the music just lines up so perfect.

Perhaps the Long Cuts have been long coming because I've improved quite a bit.  My killstreaks are getting longer, and playing right means sticking with my team and getting fewer solo kills (and solo kills make for better vids, in my opinion).  I'm sitting on a Mercy match where I had zero deaths, and I've gotta' do something with it, but I've no idea what, yet.

Anywho... this match is from last night.

This music doesn't line up as perfect, but I think this is one of my finest Tracer killstreaks ever.  Usually when I re-watch my footage, I'm finding all these tactical errors - things I kick myself for doing - but this is just a series of really nice choices and really nice plays.

0:00 - 0:09 : I dive on the Zarya and Widow not to get a pick (though one woulda' been nice!), but to get their attention off my team as they regroup on the payload.  It works beautifully, they turn all their attention to me, and with a little sass I return to my line.

0:16 - 0:25 : I sneak up on the Mercy, and quite consciously don't blow any blinks.   Once Tracer clicks, you get into a rhythm of shoot -> reload as you blink -> repeat, and it becomes so ingrained that I tend to blink after getting a pick regardless of whether or not there are any enemies nearby - so I really like that I didn't do that, here.  I'm perfectly-positioned to pick this line apart where I am, and I don't need to waste the resources.

0:25 - 0:29 : Ohohoh this is sweet.  The Hog, who has my attention, takes his huff just after the red Widow shoots our ulting Mercy out of the sky.  I immediately turn my attention from Hog to the Widow.

One perfect blink puts me at the perfect range, and one perfect clip to the head eliminates her.  Just... so perfect.  And then I one-eighty and my attention is back on Hog.

0:34 - 0:34 : The Widow quits the game.

0:29 - 0:35 : Shoot -> reload while blinking, reacquire target -> shoot -> reload while blinking, reacquire target -> shoot.  Perfect.  That is one of the cleanest Hog picks I've ever had.

0:35 - 0:45 : The pick on the Mercy as she returns from spawn is less-than-perfect - two clips and a melee - but it's fine, it worked out fine...

0:53 - 1:07 : Junkrat and I intimidate their McCree and Hog back into the spawn, but I'm not prepared to dive into that tight little room with a Roadhog.  We've shoved them back far enough - I turn back to see where the others have gone.

1:07 - 1:25 : Absolutely gorgeous.  A pulse bomb on the Bastion forces Mercy to pop her rez, which puts me in a delicate situation - but one clip into Mercy before she rezzes him puts her at half.  Another clip as he goes through the resurrection animation finishes her, and then it's a quick little close-quarters dance with the Bastion to finish the job.

Rollin' on those two like a boss.

And then we win, but the rest is relatively boring.  Yay!
