Two things. Two important things.
Cory Barlog's God of War launches on April 20th, 2018 - less than three months from now. I admitted in my Hype List post that I was less excited for God of War than the franchise's history (and meaning to me) had earned - that I hadn't seen enough of it to be as excited for it as I was for God of War II or III... but this trailer?
Yes. Yes. Right now. Right now. JUST HOOK IT TO MY VEIIIIINS!
Second, I am so, so, so happy to say this...
Iconoclasts is excellent, more wonderful than I'd hoped, or expected, having only spent a half-hour with it so far today. I'm in the middle of a terribly busy day and still trying to get supper on the table (it's a spaghetti and meatballs day!), but this short little slice has pretty much guaranteed I'm taking my Vita to work tomorrow, and I'll be spending a lot of time with it this week.
It's beautiful, it's funny, its world seems original and interesting. Its platforming is comfortable and well-animated, its puzzles are briefly concerning and rather intuitive, its combat feels impactful.
I've been hyped for Iconoclasts for a long time, and just the... the scent of a game that is beginning to exceed those expectations is an absolute thrill.
Alex and I were kinda' complaining a few weeks ago that no game has really inspired us, in a while.
I'm really looking forward to exploring this one. Haven't felt this way in...
